Obituary for Carl Lin

Carl Lin, age 41 and our most beloved brother, son and friend, passed away suddenly on January 23rd, 2021.

Carl will be missed every day by his Father, Wesley, his Mother, Susan, his brother Craig, his adopted brother and best friend Ted, his loving grandfather, aunts, uncles, cousins and many great friends. Carl is now resting peacefully in heaven.

Those who knew Carl lost the most kind-hearted and loving soul in their lives.

Carl was always the caring friend and family member, ready and willing at a moment’s notice to help, whether it was driving three hours to and from Austin to pick up and bring his brother and brother’s friends back home to Houston or picking up his cousin Tim every day from daycare

Carl was always so calm and positive about life and was a true inspiration when it comes to not letting the small things bother you. These are life lessons that were influential for his brother and parents.

Carl was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1979, but his roots were in New Jersey. It was here where his passion for sports developed. His favorite sports teams were the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and New Jersey Devils. He cherished many of these moments with his brother. Sports can be heartbreaking, but Carl was able to frequently enjoy sports euphoria – his favorite teams won a staggering 12 championships during his lifetime.

Carl also had a passion for Led Zeppelin and Guns N’ Roses. It was through music where he developed such a calm personality. “And a new day will dawn for those who stand long, and the forests will echo with laughter.” – “Stairway to Heaven”, Led Zeppelin IV

A memorial service is being held at Winford Funerals on February 6th, 2021. Carl will be cremated.

Those who choose to give a gift to honor Carl are asked to contribute in his name to the American Heart Association.
