Obituary for Chien-Chun Han 韓建春

Chien Chun Han
October 1, 1929 – April 3, 2022

With deep sorrow and much love, we mourn the passing of Chien Chun Han, also known as C.C. Han, on April 3, 2022, at the age of 92. C.C. was born in the town of Hsiantang, Hunan province, China on October 1, 1929, to Shaw Yung Han and Sheu Jen Han. He had 8 brothers and 2 sisters. He served in the Chinese Nationalist Army under Chiang Kai Shek, during World War II.
After the war, he went to Taiwan where he started his college education. He met Fu Yung Wong and they were married on April 3, 1959 in Taipei, Taiwan. Chien Chun then went to the United States to pursue further education at the University of Houston. He graduated from the University of Houston with a Master’s degree in Economics. C. C. became a U. S. citizen on January 12, 1972. C. C. and Fu Yung had two sons, Nathan and Noel.
Chien Chun began his Cost Engineering career with Brown and Root. He later worked for Fluor Corporation for a short time and finally landed with Aramco (Arabian American Oil Company). He worked for Aramco as a Petroleum Cost Engineer from 1971 to 1984, living in Ras Tanura and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Mom and Dad moved back to Texas briefly in the late ‘70’s. They then went back to Saudi after Nathan started university. They spent several years living in Udhailiyah, Saudi Arabia before finally retiring in 1984. C. C. and Fu Yung were very proud to see their sons graduate from college. After retiring from engineering, C. C. enjoyed fishing while golfing and golfing while fishing. He also loved fishing for golf balls. He loved to tell stories about his time in the army and his early years in Taiwan. Chien Chun will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Fu Yung; son Nathan Charles and daughter-in-law Rona and grandchildren Petra and Jade; son Noel Mathew and daughter-in-law Nancy, and grandchildren Alexander, Andrew, and Sydney.
C. C. may be gone from this world physically, but he will never be gone from our hearts. He will always be remembered.
