Obituary for David Guok Leong Ng
David Guok Leong Ng, 70, was an honorable and exceptional man who passed away on October 14, 2020. He was born in Hampton, VA on April 15, 1950 to Ah Gin Ng and Mary Toy Theo Ng. It was here that he married the love of his life, Dr. Shu Hwa Tsai.
His greatest joy was his family and he was extremely proud of them all. He is survived by Shu Hwa, his devoted wife of 43 years; his daughter, Virginia Ng Henry, PhD; son-in-law, Gregory Henry; grandsons Andrew (Bean) and Matthew; son, Jonathan Ng; daughter-in-law, Kristina Ng; and grandson, Alexander. He is also survived by his mother, Mary; brother, Raymond; sister-in-law, Karen; nephew, Gregory; niece, Sara; and many more extended family members.
David was affectionately known as “Yellow Tiger” by family and friends. Born and raised in Virginia, he liked to remark that he “wasn’t born in Texas but got here fast as I could.” He was fiercely loyal and had an incredible sense of humor. David was known for his positivity, charity, charm, common sense, and his natural ability to spread cheer. His thoughtfulness had no bounds and he will be missed deeply.
