Obituary for David Wah Wong

David Wah Wong passed away in peace at the age of 85. He was born to parents Moon Wong and Tsai Wong in Saigon, Vietnam.
David came to Houston in the mid-1980s and became the Founder of a local Chinese newspaper called the Central Southern Post 中南報. Through advertisements and featured articles, many of the old Chinatown businesses flourished. This helped shape Houston’s early Chinese and Vietnamese communities.
He was an active member of SINO-INCOCHINESE ASSOCIATION and became the Chairman of the Houston Chapter On Leong Association from 1998 to 2000. He loved humming and singing his favorite music and spent a lot of his days with a smiling laughter.
He will be fondly remembered as a cherished husband of Tran Luu, loving father of Laurence and Terrance, proud grandfather of London, Preston, Nicole, and Ellie. Further survived by a younger sister, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of David’s life will be held on May 27, 2020 beginning at 1pm to 3pm.
