Obituary
In Loving Memory of
James Chung On

James Chung On was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. He passed away on August 27, 2022 in Houston, Texas.
He was an accomplished printer like his father before him. He prided himself on providing quality printed materials to his clients for over seven decades in the Philippines and later, in Houston. He had incredible skill and expertise in the printing process from designing the graphics to the final product.
James worked tirelessly to provide for his family and succeeded in establishing a life in America with his wife and child. He shared with his family a life full of irreplaceable and precious memories.
He loved to eat good Chinese, Filipino, Vietnamese, and Mediterranean food. Later on he learned to savor Mexican food as well after he immigrated to Houston. Traveling was also another part of life he relished, going on adventures with his wife and son from the beaches of Vietnam and the Philippines to the canyons of Big Bend. He enjoyed music by Elvis Presley, Everly Brothers and Doris Day.
James was also dedicated to his family as a father, brother, and granduncle. One of his greatest joys was to watch his son graduate with a Master’s Degree from Johns Hopkins University. In addition, the highlight of his week would be visits from his grandnieces and grandnephews with whom he would play with.
A man of few words, smiling only during precious moments, he was a beloved husband, caring father, and a very sincere and loyal friend. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, On and Felicidad Chung, and older sister, Jovita Chung. He is survived by his wife Wilda and son Christopher, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Ling Chung, John and Jane Chung, and three sisters, Julia, Lourdes and Grace Chung.
