Ms. Lien Luong, age 81, passed peacefully to be with her creator on July 23rd, 2020 in Houston, Texas. She lived an extraordinary life filled with love, joy, and happiness.

Ms. Luong was born on November 21, 1938 in Vietnam. She and her young family escaped from Vietnam after the war and immigrated to Houston, Texas as refugees in 1979 with the hopes of a better future.

Affectionately nicknamed “Butterfly” and “Po-Po” by her loved ones, she is survived by her sons Tri and Jon, her daughter Lynn and her grandson Ian.

Ms. Luong was much loved by her extensive family who live throughout the world including her sisters, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Ms. Luong was a devoted wife, loving mother, and kindhearted grandmother. Family was the world to her. She instilled a strong work ethic and the importance of education and lifetime knowledge in her children. She retired in 1997 after being a seamstress, business owner and bookkeeper. She loved gardening and breeding African violets.
