Obituary for Marciano S Pascual Jr.

Marciano "Jun" San Gabriel Pascual, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the age of 75, in Sugar Land, Texas.

He was a loving husband and father of 6 children. He was born to parents, Marciano J. Pascual, Sr. and Victoria San Gabriel, on December 1, 1945 in Guimba, Nueva Ecija, Philippines.

He earned a scholarship from the Corp of Cadets in the University of the Philippines Los Baños, Laguna, to get him through college, and graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Economics.

In 1971, Jun married his first wife, Pilar, in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines. In 1976, they took an opportunity to move their family to the United States, arriving in Chicago and finally settling in Houston in 1979. During their 32 years of marriage, they raised 4 children together: Sharon, Mark, Aileen, and Allan (“JJ”).

He worked as an insurance agent and managed the Filipino unit for Bankers Life in Chicago, Illinois. Jun continued his career in Houston, Texas at Bankers Life and founded the Filipino unit of Houston. After 37 years of service, he retired as a Farmers Insurance agent in 2020.

In 2002, Jun met his current wife, Rebecca, and was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Marsha.

Jun enjoyed studying the Bible, traveling, gardening, playing billiards, chess, tennis, and basketball. He took great pleasure in serving First Filipino American United Methodist Church (FFAUMC) where he served as Chairman of the Church Council from 1992-1993 and Chairperson of the Building Fund Campaign from 1990-1993. During his tenure, he helped raise enough money for FFAUMC to break ground on the church’s community and worship center.

Freemasonry was also a big part of Jun’s life. He started as a Mason in Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines - Mother Lodge Nueva Vizcaya Lodge #144 and continued his membership at Freedom Lodge #1461 in Houston. From 2015-2016, Jun was the proud Worshipful Master of the Freedom Lodge. Subsequently, he joined the West University Lodge #1292. He was also a member of Upsilon Sigma Phi, the Arabia Shrine, Knights of Rizal, Vanguard, and the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Jun is survived by his wife, Rebecca, and their daughter, Marsha. He is also survived by his daughter and her husband, Marissa and Joseph; his former wife, Pilar; their children and their spouses - Sharon and Scott, Mark and Nina, Aileen and Thomas, Allan and Kim; their grandchildren, Donovan, Tomaz, Antoni, Nathan, Ashley, Javier, Yanis, Chloe, Addison, Uriah, and Evelyn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marciano J. Pascual, Sr.; his mother, Victoria San Gabriel; his sisters, Filipina P. Bandian and Teresita P. Peregrina; and his brother, Rolando S. Pascual, Sr.

The family has entrusted Winford Funerals Southwest with the arrangements. Visitations and viewings are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, January 28 and 29 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Service is scheduled for Saturday, January 30 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Winford Funerals Southwest. Due to COVID-19, we will practice social distancing and a mask is needed to enter the funeral home. The Pascual Family highly encourages friends and family to view the Livestream of Friday’s Viewing (5:00 to 7:00 p.m.) and/or Saturday’s Funeral Service from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. Pastor Jerico Pagdilao will officiate the Service.
