Obituary for Rajinder Krishan Soni

Rajinder Krishan Soni was born in Lahore, Pakistan on July 31, 1941 to Amar Nath and Vidya Vati Soni. He was raised in Karol Bagh, New Delhi and attended Ramjas School. He graduated from Birla Institute of Technology (BITS Pillani) with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Rajinder then pursued his Masters in Control Systems Engineering from University of Bradford in the United Kingdom. He returned to India and married his wife of 51 years, Meera (Sachdev) on October 19, 1969. After the birth of their two children, the family emigrated to Houston after two years in London.

He was an active leader and member of many Indian cultural and Hindu religious organizations, as well as several other local charities. He recently retired from a 50 year career as an engineer in the oil and gas industry.
Rajinder was known for his generous and gregarious personality. Always the life of the party, he loved organizing events for his family and friends.

Rajinder was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Baldev and Naresh. He is survived by his wife, Meera; son, Sandeep; and daughter, Aarti.
