Obituary for Rita Susan Mccarty

Rita “Susan” McCarty, 72, of Houston, TX, passed away on July 31, 2020 after a long fight with respiratory illness.

Susan was born on April 1, 1948 to Lawrence and Rita Beale in Houston, TX and was the oldest of 7 children.

Always a dedicated daughter and sister, Susan was also an extremely hard worker. Her professional career in the insurance industry included nearly two decades with ISB Insurance. It was there where she was fortunate enough to establish life-long friendships among her colleagues.

Susan was someone who cared immensely for all of the people in her life. Whether it was looking out for her siblings as a child and in adulthood, to taking care of her parents in their final years, she was a person of tremendous compassion and love.

Susan was funny and loved people. She loved to laugh and made friends everywhere she went. She was sweet, and kind, and always selfless in her actions and thoughts.

Above all, Susan was the most incredible mother and grandmother. She lived for her children and showed her son, Chris, and stepsons, Michael and Robert, the kind of love that has allowed them to create deep and meaningful relationships with their families and friends. It was her dedication, unconditional love, and support that paved the way for her boys to be the fathers and husbands they are today. For that, they will all be deeply grateful.

Susan was predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Rita Beale, as well as her beloved brother, Victor Beale. She is survived by her son, Chris McCarty (and his wife Lynn and their son Liam), and her stepsons, Michael McCarty (and his wife Anisa and their son Van) and Robert McCarty (and his wife Vicky and their daughters Tabitha and Payton). She is also survived by her siblings, Lawrence Beale III, Dr. Gladys Beale, Deborah Sanders, Marianna Smith, and Rebecca Beale, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

This world may have lost a beacon of light, but Heaven has gained a soul with insurmountable kindness and love. The family requests that you keep Susan in your thoughts and prayers and to carry on the light she once spread.
