Chien, Shiowyuan Don, passed away on Monday May 9, 2022, in Houston, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She had just celebrated her 90th birthday in April as well as Mother’s Day. She now joins her husband, Chien, Yung Ching, who passed away 2 years ago. Shiowyuan was born in Taichung, Taiwan and immigrated to the United States along with her husband in 1980. She was the strength of her family while raising three daughters and two sons. She enjoyed dancing and singing, traveling, whether to Taiwan, other parts of the US or other countries, accompanied by her grown children. She also enjoyed playing ma-Jang with her friends. She was an expert in making Chinese sausages, making papier-mache figurines, yummy sun cakes, pineapple cakes, and many others. And her biggest delight was in being able to give them to others after visiting.

She will be sadly missed by all her extended family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Mancy Jane Parker & husband Amleto Martocchia, her son Yua Dean Chien & wife Amy, her daughter Shwuer Chien Phillips & husband Wade, Daughter Janice Chien Bonner & husband Bob, and her son Travis Chien & wife Ann. She also leaves her brother in Taiwan, Tung, Mu-Yuan. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
