Obituary for Wai K. Lam

Wai K. Lam
4/12/1949 – 5/9/2021

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Wai K. Lam, our loving and devoted mother and friend to many, on May 9, 2021. She left us after a several months long battle with pancreatic cancer while resting peacefully at her home in Houston, TX surrounded by family. She recently celebrated her 72nd year of a life well-lived.
.
Born in the Canton (Guangdong) Province of China, she immigrated to Hong Kong where she met and married her husband Wing (Ricky) Lam in 1970. Shortly thereafter they immigrated to the United States and settled in Houston, Texas. For over 50 years, Houston was their home. It was there they successfully opened several restaurants and more importantly to her, started their family. She enjoyed meeting friends and family for friendly games of mahjong and dining out, trying different ethnic foods. She loved preparing home cooked meals, especially Cantonese-style soups, for family. Later in her life, she was blessed with the opportunity to travel with her children, grandchildren and siblings, exploring numerous destinations

She is survived by her husband, Wing; three children, Michael, Monalisa and Marcus; daughters-in-law, Lynn and Tien-Tien; son-in-law, Anthony; several siblings, nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family members. She is predeceased by her parents and older brother.

Visitation will be held on Friday, the 14th of May 2021 from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday, the 15th of May at 2pm to 5pm at:
