Obituary for Wayne Scott Looney
It is with great sadness that we announce Wayne S. Looney, age 76, passed away on April 16, 2023 at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.
He was born on April 18, 1946 in San Antonio, Tx to Helen A. (Walker) Deckert and Forrest S. Looney. He attended LaSalle High School in San Antonio, Tx and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration at Texas State University in San Marcos, Tx in 1969. He spent most of his career working in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry. In 1974, he moved to Houston, Tx where he continued his career. He enjoyed western movies, hunting, and fishing. Wayne loved making others around him happy and unselfishly put the needs of everyone around him first.
Wayne is survived by his brother, Gary F. Looney; his sister, Janet Birdwell; his five children, Scott Looney, Dawn Archer and her children, Alexandra and Lauren; Karen Carson and son-in-law, Michael, Dallas Looney and daughter-in-law, Azul, Megan Vittitow and son-in-law, Josh and their children, Tyler, Jaxson and Maci; his two aunts, Elizabeth Walker Hope and Margot Walker Duran, and several nephews and one niece.
A memorial service for Wayne S. Looney will be held at Winford Funeral Home, 8588 Breen Rd., Houston, Tx 77064 on April 22, 2023 at 2:00pm. He would want this to be a celebration to remember him and not mourn. We invite all guests to honor his life by telling fond stories of him, engraving the memory of Wayne in our hearts for the kind and giving person that he was.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association and/or the American Diabetes Association.
