Obituary for Yuzan He 何育赞
Yuzan He, 86, of Houston TX, passed away on May 12, 2022 at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, surrounded by his family and friends.
Mr. He was born on April 2, 1936, in Guangzhou, P.R. China, to Zhuoqun He and Chengyang Yang. He graduated from Sun Yat-Sen University in 1958 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.After graduation, Mr. Yuzan He started his career at Institute of Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After over 40 years of service, he retired in the year of 2001.
Mr. He was an outstanding mathematician in China and had made great impact in the areas of complex analysis and complex differential equations. He published 3 books and over 50 papers in prestigious journals. Because of his exceptional work in the theoretical mathematics, he won several national prizes such as Natural Science Award. Mr. He was also a great educator. He had supervised over 20 graduate students, who are all currently playing a key role in top universities and big companies in both China and US.
He is survived by his wife, Jingfang Xu; two daughters and their spouses, Weixiang He and Seppo Nurmi, Weisong He and Ming Liu; and two grandsons.
Services will be held at Winford Funeral Home on May 15, 2022 at 2:00pm.
